I nearly went bonkers with neck and shoulder pain from sitting at my computer. Whether traveling or at my local coffee shop, hours spent with my head tilting downwards to read the screen screwed with my body. Then I bought The Roost, a collapsible, nearly weightless, travel-friendly laptop stand. (This post is not sponsored) and it worked!
In my office, I use a 27” monitor. I sit straight up, view my work at eye level and keep my shoulders relaxed. Unfortunately, I can’t take my monitor with me. I can easily pack The Roost.

high so I adjusted the Roost height accordingly.
To use The Roost, you’ll need an external keyboard and mouse. You can type with the computer on the Roost but that pulls your shoulders forward, defeating the purpose.
The Roost comes with a small travel pouch about the width of a ruler and approximately the same length.

If you’re wondering if I am a shill for the brand—and I could understand why you might draw that conclusion—rest assured, I have no relationship with the company and I paid full price. I just wanted to pass along something I loved and found useful.

Hi there – what’s your question?
I honestly felt that it was a little too expensive but then I realized that your health is priceless.
I agree, if there was a comparable competitor for less money I would do it. It is pricey, but to your point, I’m so happy not to have a sore neck that is been worth it.
Quite useful 🙂 ..
So helpful!! I love mine
Thank you very much, Susan, I’ve been looking for something like that, now I have one, thanks to you, I’ll let you know as soon as I get it if it hlps me as much as I think it will.
Great! Please let me know what you think when you’re had time to try it
Oho Nice tips…Will surely help…as I am always travelling and also using my lappy…
It will change your life
This looks so handy! Although I’d be worried my laptop would come crashing down any second…
If you have the edge of the computer slipped into the Roost’s clamps, it’s very very steady. No problems to date. 🙂
quite a good idea
It really works. 🙂
Nice write-up! I tried buying through your link, but the code isn’t working. I pasted it in as “QXJA-4D34DK-XKEX2Q”. Should it still be working today, 3/22?
Thanks!
How interesting! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure. It really helps if you have the neck and problem

i like your article, very inspiring and thank you for your post
I am so glad I came across this! Cool idea!
It’s great. I love mine.
Hey this is really nice, I myself thinking of getting one. Very informative.
I’ve really found it makes a difference. Glad you felt the post was helpful.
Now that is a good idea. When I travel I don’t tend to take my laptop, I do all my cataloguing and processing when I get home.
I envy you Mark. I have to have my laptop with me. And I often process at night when I get back. I’m a bit of a Type A individual. LOL
Haha 😊
This looks wonderful. My neck/shoulder have been really bad the past week or so due to this very thing.
I think it’s a classic issue. My stepmother is taking an online course and doesn’t have a monitor so she uses the laptop as is. She was having terrible neck and shoulder pain, plus headaches derived from the muscle cramping. She got the stand and she loves it.
Please share if you know any friends that might be able to use it. With 25% off, it’s better to get it now.
Great idea. The things we do to our necks …
Lyle, it’s made a big difference on the road especially when I’m spending hours editing photos.
Great thanx!! :))
You’re most welcome. You’ll love it.
