I never thought of myself as a cruiser.
I imagined I’d be bored within hours of departing. That didn’t turn out to be the case. That said, it all depends on the kind of cruise you choose. I don’t think I’ll ever take a mellow float down the Danube but cruises that focus on activities, nature and wildlife? Yep, that’s for me. How about you?
All the trips below except Alaska, which was on a much bigger boat, are what’s called ‘Expedition’ cruises: smaller ships (under 200 passengers) focused on outdoor activities, typically in remote locations, not specific ports. The itineraries are more a of a guide not a hard and fast schedule and they adjust in real time depending on the weather, wildlife sightings or other variables.
Each cruise line has its own personality and the boats can differ greatly depending on size and destination. The common denominator is that you’ll always have fun.
