My walls are empty.

Six months ago… hmmm… maybe that’s eight months ago, I decided to remove all the photos I had on my wall as a strategy to force myself to print some of my more recent photos and hang them.

Unfortunately, I forgot that with many things in my personal life I have a problem with indecision, which is a major contributing factor to why there are certain things that never get done around my house. The long and the short of it, I can’t figure out which images I  like enough to commit to framing.

Maybe it’s because I’m too close to the images, too critical. I keep thinking I’ll take something in the future that will scream: THIS IS A PICTURE YOU SHOULD HANG ON YOUR WALL.  Until then, I guess, my walls will remain empty.

I bring this up because I want to hang this photo by Ganesh Shankar.

I love that it’s a wildlife photo, but not a straightforward here’s-an-ostrich-walking-in-the-grass image. It’s moody, mysterious, the blur is just right, and the cropping is unexpected and absolutely wonderful.

I wish I’d taken this photo because I know that I would hang it on my wall.
