The sun had set and we were driving back to Joy’s Camp in northern Kenya, where I was an invited guest, in a pumpkin afterglow. It had been a fruitful day of sightings and I was anxious to get back to my tent, take a hot shower, have a bite to eat, and relax by the fire with a good glass of wine or three.
In the distance, high on a large hill, I saw the light had cast the trees across its summit in silhouette. I love silhouettes, (check out an earlier a post on that here) but was equally intrigued by the unique perspective. The immense trees I knew were towering over the landscape were now in miniature, giving the scene and even more interesting effect.
My first thought: This will make an awesome Facebook cover photo. (Sad how social media pops into my head at the weirdest times.)
We were in a bit of a hurry ( I was starving), so I snapped my pics and then later when I was editing (I’ve always loved surprises), I saw him.
