You wake up after a long day of travel and your eyes look as if you’re peering through tiny pillows glued to your face. You may feel wide awake but your eyes say, “I’m overworked and I am swelling in protest.”
Or heaven forbid you broke up with someone on vacation (that happened to me, it sucked), and you cried all night. If you’re like me, my eyes react so violently to tears that afterward I look like I’ve been beaten up by Rocky Balboa.

Years ago I was given a box in a gift bag and I stuck it in my linen closet and then promptly forgot about it. Months later I woke up from a long yet very entertaining evening and scared myself when I looked in the mirror. I remembered the deep blue box and thought I’d give the patches a try. I slapped the little crescent-shaped lovelies under my eyes and went about the rest of my morning getting ready. Albeit slowly and with a massive headache.
I’ve tried all the other treatments: cold spoons, ice cubes, cucumbers, preparation H (yep, a beauty editor at a major magazine told me that one), and a variety of other home remedies and none of them have worked as well.
You’ll love how the patches stick under your eyes without having to hold them there. Pressing an ice-cube to your face is both boring and painful.
Ok.. here’s the bad news.. They’re not cheap. Almost $20 for a box of seven pouches with 2 patches each. Obviously, I’m not using these everyday, but when I really feel that I look like crap, they’re a life-saver.
I always keep a few pouches with me in my travel bag.
