Postcard: Traveling Shadows

Commuters as silhouettes in Grand Central Terminal's main concourse

I took this awhile back in Grand Central Terminal’s main concourse. I passed through GC quite a bit at the time on my way to a client’s office. My route was a pain in the ass: the 2/3 subway to Times Square, then the shuttle across town to Grand Central followed by a walk to East 46th street.  My hike through the concourse made the journey bearable. No matter the time of day, the people, the buzz, the light and the architecture are a winning combination. The Apple Store doesn’t hurt either. (Wink)

One morning the sun streaming in from the windows stopped me in my tracks; shafts of light turned the commuters into ethereal silhouettes and I had to take a picture before continuing on my way.

What building where you live capture your imagination?
