I was having a good time this morning looking online for images that would capture my attention, inspire and motivate me. I found this on National Geographic and it stopped me in my tracks. At first I wasn’t sure what was going on but then I realized that the horizontal lines were from the back window of some kind of vehicle.
The photo is by Tyler Klifman and I think it’s wonderful. It compels me to look at it. To be inquisitive. What’s going on? Why are the boys running? Were they OK?
According to Tyler’s caption this shot was taken in Kenya and the boy in the foreground was riding on a van’s bumper while the boys behind him chased it—I’m assuming for a ride as well. I’m dying to know if they were successful, aren’t you?
I also love the conversion to black and white and the emphasis he put on playing up the contrast. I don’t think it would have half the drama if this were in color.
