You may or may not know this, but when I take my Insatiable Traveler cape off I am a Communications / PR consultant—that’s how I pay the bills. I’ve had clients interviewed on all the major morning shows, national news, radio and with all the major newspapers. I, however, have never been interviewed at length about anything.
Until now… It’s so strange being on the other side of the equation.
A week or so ago I taped a podcast interview with Chris Christensen of The Amateur Traveler about my recent trip to the Timbavati Game Reserve in South Africa. Luckily, it was a region that Chris hadn’t discussed before and he’s talked about hundreds of destinations with various travelers all over the world—my interview was #429. (To listen follow the link below)
Chris is a pro at the podcast thing and has a nice smooth voice. In this little ditty, I’m a little on the loud side – just a warning. I didn’t know that my Skype mic was so darn sensitive, you may want to listen a few feet from your computer. To my chagrin, I also sound more nasal than I would like. (Do I really sound like that?). I was so hoping that I would sound like Cate Blanchett.
Anyway, I digress….
The interview was a lot of fun and I loved being able to share my adventures in Africa with Chris and his audience. We talked about my addiction to the continent, where I stayed, wildlife photography, what an average day on safari was like, the leopard outside my room, and what people should think about when making plans to visit South Africa, plus a lot more.
