I was looking through National Geographic’s gallery of “Your Shot” images and found this photo I definitely wish that I had taken.
If you’re not familiar with “Your Shot”, it’s a community Nat Geo created that invites professional photographers and amateurs alike to submit photos for consideration to be featured on its site. It’s a great resource for inspiration and I try to look through it as often as possible.
This picture by Muslianshah Masrie immediately captured my attention because I love love love the repetitive geometry and graphic lines that make up the view. The woman in powder blue however makes the image come to life.
I’ve occasionally come across wonderful settings like this but never with a person nearby to make it whole. Actually to be more accurate, sure there have been people nearby but they’ve typically been in Nikes and a t-shirt with some kind of saying like “Bite Me” or something else just as elegant. Not quite the subject I had in mind. I’ve never had the good fortune to have both elements come together as in this photo.
I’d love to know your thoughts; what do you think of this Image?
